WAYNESBORO, VA – The Wayne Theatre proudly announces the 2025 Wayne Gala, an elegant and highly anticipated fundraising event that also serves as the official kickoff of the Wayne Theatre’s 10th and 100th anniversary celebrations. This special event will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, beginning at 6:00 PM at the Wayne Theatre, located at 521 W. Main Street in Downtown Waynesboro, Virginia.
The 2025 Wayne Gala is particularly significant as it marks the beginning of the theatre’s centennial celebrations. Originally established in 1926 as a vaudeville and movie house, the Wayne Theatre has remained a treasured cultural institution for the Waynesboro community for generations. Following its extensive restoration and reopening in 2016, the theatre has flourished as a premier performing arts venue, dedicated to education, entertainment, and community engagement.
“The Wayne Gala is always a special occasion, but this year it carries even greater significance as we launch both our 10th and our 100th anniversary celebrations,” said Tracy Straight, Executive Director of the Wayne Theatre. “For a century, this theatre has brought people together, and throughout the last decade, the Wayne has been laser-focused on delivering unforgettable ways for our community, neighbors, and guests from around the country to experience live performances, film, and cultural events. We are honored to begin this milestone year with an evening dedicated to celebrating the past while ensuring a bright future for the arts in our community.”
The Wayne Gala is the theatre’s largest and most important fundraising event of the year, supporting its arts programming, educational initiatives, and community outreach efforts.
