Wayne Theatre is thrilled to announce its upcoming HalloWAYNE season with Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery. This comedic twist on Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic tale, The Hound of the Baskervilles, is a treat for not only fans of Sherlock Holmes but also lovers of clever comedy and intriguing mystery. In this vibrant retelling, audiences will witness five actors take on the challenge of portraying 40 different characters. As the story unfolds, these characters divert and distract Sherlock as he races against time to uncover what is plaguing the Baskerville family.

Written by the acclaimed playwright Ken Ludwig, Baskerville promises to deliver a fast-paced and engaging show. Also written by Ludwig, Murder on the Orient Express captivated audiences last October at Wayne Theatre and earned praise for its clever construction and wit. Now, his skill for adaptation is being brought to the moors of Devonshire, where a family curse looms.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must untangle a dizzying web of clues, silly accents, disguises, and deceit as they work to uncover the truth. Audiences will be on the edge of their seats as the duo puzzle their way through a mystery riddled with deception and drollery.

Ken Ludwig is a world-renowned playwright with numerous shows performed on Broadway and London’s West End which have all solidified his reputation as a masterful storyteller and uplifted figure in the theatre world. His work on Lend Me a Tenor awarded him two Tony Awards and significant critical acclaim. Baskerville is an amazing showcase of his ability to capture the essence of beloved characters while also introducing fresh air into their stories.

As part of our annual HalloWAYNE celebration, Baskerville will run nine performances between October 18th-20th and October 25th-27th. This is a fantastic opportunity for audiences to enjoy a show filled with laughter, suspense, unexpected twists, and vibrant performances. Tickets are on sale now at www.waynetheatre.org
