TICKETS & EVENT DETAILS

Beginning October 10, the Wayne Theatre took on the Big Apple! A group of ten from the Wayne (staff, board members, and patrons) took a weekend trip to the city that never sleeps with V.I.P. Tours of New York where they got to experience a number of plays and musicals including: Once Upon a Mattress, Hamilton, Wicked, Back to the Future, Romeo and Juliet, Sunset Boulevard, Water for Elephants, The Notebook, Hell’s Kitchen, The Great Gatsby, and many more.

V.I.P. Tours of New York is a tour guide company that offers N.Y.C. tourists one-of-a-kind Broadway experiences. Wayne Theatre was excited to take this trip with V.I.P. Tours because they are celebrated for their support of nonprofit theatres across the country. They also work to build stronger relationships between theatres and the local communities that support them. V.I.P. Tours offered Wayne Theatre a jam-packed itinerary for the weekend filled with Broadway shows, backstage tours, walking tours of the city, and entertainment salons with Broadway stars.

Our staff experienced many private tours over the weekend and met with Broadway producers, musicians, and performers like Water for Elephants’ Sarah Gettelfinger, The Great Gatsby’s Pascal Pastrana, Buena Vista Social Club’s Ilda Mason, and pianist and associate conductor for Wicked, Paul Loesel. They were also given the opportunity to learn about the history of N.Y.C. and the theatre district through tours of historic theatres, costume design workshops, and one-on-one time with Broadway insiders.

The Wayne Theatre had an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime weekend filled with many great learning opportunities, chances to make new friends, and enjoy delicious food and show-stopping performances!
