June 1: Bacon in the ‘Boro, The South River Music Festival

The Wayne Theatre presents Bacon in the ‘Boro: The South River Music Festival on Saturday, June 1, along the banks of the South River at Constitution Park in downtown Waynesboro. Gates will open at 1 p.m. with music starting at 3 p.m.

Thousands of people are expected to attend this music and food festival with local food (can you say bacon?), craft beer, cider and wine.

Tickets to the festival are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the gate. Children 15 and under are free when accompanied by a parent/guardian.

VIP tickets are available (limited quantity available) for $50 and include guaranteed seating and two drink tickets.

There will be a variety of food trucks, vendors and beer and wine tents.

There will also be activities for children including a tent from the Blue Ridge Children’s Museum.

Stone Rollin’ – Rhythm, blues and soul that’ll keep your feet movin’!


The Barefoot Movement – Nashville-based group heralded by CMT Edge as “one of the most promising bands on the bluegrass scene,” a charming, acoustic band takes listeners back to a simpler place and time, including emotional ballads and rip-roaring barn-burners


Remember Jones – a one-of-a-kind soul/pop singer, storyteller and bandleader with a throwback vibe and authentic energy. Collaboratively supported by a large ensemble of musicians


Robin and Linda Williams – a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism

June 10-14: Imagination Stage Summer Camp

Using dramatic play movement, music, with a hint of visual art, we will explore variety of theatre subjects including improvisation, physical theatre, and acting. Recommended for grades K-5.

Production Camp: Junie B. Jones Jr. The Musical

During this two-week program June 17-28, students will work with Director Hank Fitzgerald and his creative team to present Junie B. Jones The Musical Jr. Recommended for Grades 4-12.

June 21: Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr.

America's Got Talent season six winner Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. returns to the Wayne Theatre on Friday, June 21, at 8 p.m.

June 23: Mini Madness and The Italian Job screening

The Shenandoah Valley British Car Club presents Mini Madness on Sunday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at the Wayne Theatre. Mini Madness is a celebration of the 60th anniversary of one of Britain’s most iconic cars.

June 28-29: Junie B. Jones Jr. The Musical

Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie’s best friend Lucille has found new best friends - and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school.

June 30: Nightingales of the Shenandoah Valley

The Wayne Theatre presents Nightingales of the Shenandoah Valley on Sunday, June 30, for one show at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students/$18 for adults.

2019 Summer Movie Series at the Wayne

The Wayne Theatre presents a series of movies this summer for the young and young at heart in July.

July 30: The Quebe Sisters

The Quebe Sisters return to the Wayne Theatre on Tuesday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m.

August 8-18: Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical
