Nov. 4: Scott Miller

WNRN presents Scott Miller at the Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Nov. 4.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $28.

Miller, a native of Swoope, Va., will be touring behind his brand new release “Ladies Auxiliary” (F.A.Y. Recordings 2017) and accompanied by Bryn Davies on bass and Australian guitarist Anne McCue on guitar. McCue also produced “Ladies Auxiliary” and this will be her first trip to the Shenandoah Valley.

“So don’t act like a bunch of yahoos,” says Miller.

On playing in his home county, Miller added, “I’ve played in front of 40,000 people without breaking a sweat, but put me in front of my old teachers, coaches and Scoutmasters and I get nervous like a cat on a screen door.  It should be an interesting show.”

Miller came into the national spotlight in the mid nineties as leader of the Knoxville-based band The V-Roys; signed and produced by Steve Earle for his E-Squared label. After releasing two critically acclaimed albums, The V-Roys disbanded. Miller then signed to Sugar Hill Records and released several highly praised recordings with his new backing band, The Commonwealth.  Most recently he has recorded and released music through his own F.A.Y. Records label.

“I’m proud of this new record, proud of this new band, and proud to play this revamped theater where I saw “Song of the South” and “Star Wars”. I think I’ve come full circle.”
