Monday at the Movies: Audience Choice Season continues in 2017

- Join fellow film fans in 2017 for weekly classics at the beautifully restored Wayne Theatre up on the big screen the way they were meant to be! Showings at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays.

March 23: Real Boy Screening

- The historic Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center presents three films in 2017 at part of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation’s On Screen/In Person program. On March 23, "Real Boy" will be shown at 7 p.m. with a discussion with the filmmaker afterwards. "Real Boy" is the coming-of-age story of Bennett Wallace, a transgender teenager on a journey to find his voice as a musician, a friend, a son, and a man.

March 25: Wilson Fairchild

- Wilson Fairchild, the country music duo of Wil and Langdon Reid, is back at the Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 25. With influences including The Statler Brothers, Ricky Skaggs and Dailey & Vincent, the Reid Boys have been writing, performing and playing music together their entire lives. As they say in their hit song, “Country On,” “We love country music, and we’ll never let it die.”

March 27: Graeme of Thrones

- The critically-acclaimed Graeme of Thrones is coming to the Wayne Theatre on Monday, March 27, at 7 p.m. Direct from a four-star, sold-out run in London's West End, this hilarious parody received the Critics Choice award from both the London Evening Standard and The Times, who called it "charming, funny" and "spot on." Original cast members Ali Brice (Graeme) and Libby Northedge (Bryony) are joined by Canadian-born Michael Condron (Paul), who has appeared in Seasons 5 and 6 of Game of Thrones as Bowen Marsh.

March 28: The Battle of Waynesboro (Signature Speaker Series)

- The Wayne Theatre Signature Speaker Series will include a lecture by Richard Williams on The Battle of Waynesboro on March 28.

April 1: Hotel California – A Salute to the Eagles

- The Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center welcomes "Hotel California - A Salute to the Eagles" to its lovely place in Waynesboro on Saturday, April 1., at 8 p.m. With their extraordinary vocal and musical talent, Hotel California faithfully and accurately reproduce the sound of The Eagles while recreating a classic sound which transcends the boundaries of Rock, R&B, and Country.

April 6: ‘States of Grace’ screening

- A screening of the emotionally-charged “States of Grace” will be screened on Thursday, April 6, at the Wayne Theatre as part of the On-Screen/In-Person documentary series. Co-director Mark Lipman will be on hand at the Wayne for the screening and for an audience Q-and-A afterward.

April 8: Shenandoah Jamboree with Ben “Cooter” Jones

- The Shenandoah Jamboree returns to the Wayne Theatre for one show on Saturday, April 8, with guest star Ben “Cooter” Jones. Jones will join the Shenandoah Jamboree regulars, including host Lisa Meadows, for the 7 p.m. show.

April 9: Chocolat (Faith in Film Series)

- Six films will be presented at the Wayne Theatre in 2017 as part of a Faith in Film Series on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. Admission is Pay What You Will.

April 22: Les Violons du Roy

- The renowned chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy will take the stage at the Wayne Theatre on Saturday, April 22, at 8 p.m. The orchestra, based in Quebec City, Quebec, since 2007, is well-known throughout Canada for its vast repertoire of music selections dating back to 17th and 18th century Baroque and Classical all the way through to more modern works by Piazzolla, Bartók and Britten.

April 28: LIVE @ the WAYNE

- LIVE @ the WAYNE returns to the Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. Host Tracy Straight will join the house band, The Boogie Kings, at the show.

April 30: 3 Redneck Tenors

- The 3 Redneck Tenors will bring a unique blend of opera, standup comedy and improv to the Wayne Theatre on Sunday, April 30, at 7 p.m. Their take on the Three Tenors model is fresh - with all styles of music from modern pop to opera, and everything in between.

May 5-7 and May 12-14: Xanadu

- The Wayne Theatre presents the Tony Award-nominated musical Xanadu. The local production, directed by Hank Fitzgerald and starring Erin Tawney, Aaron Crosby and Jeff Ryman, will run back-to-back weekends – May 5-7 and May 12-14.

May 26: Letters Home

- Letters Home comes to the Wayne Theatre on May 26 at 8 p.m. Letters Home puts the current wars in Afghanistan and Iraq front and center by bringing to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East.

June 7 – July 26: Summer Movie Series

- The Wayne Theatre brings family favorite classic films to the big screen with the Summer Movie Series beginning June 7. Screenings are Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Films include BFG, Wizard of Oz, Matilda and E.T.

June 9 – July 28: Friday Night Movies

- The Wayne Theatre has put together a schedule of classic cult films for its summer Friday Night Movies series that will begin on June 9. Screenings are Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Films include Jaws, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, The Goonies, Rocky and more.

June 10: South River Shag

- The banks of the South River in Downtown Waynesboro will be the backdrop for the biggest outdoor shag dance party ever in Virginia with thousands of people converging on the River City for one day!

July 17: Glenn Miller Orchestra

- The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform at the Wayne Theatre on Monday, July 17, at 7 p.m. The 18-member band continues to play many of the original Miller arrangements along with some more modern selections ...
