Disney’s Choo-Choo Soul arrives in Waynesboro
Two shows scheduled for Sunday, April 24
All aboard! Disney’s Choo-Choo Soul “With Genevieve!” comes to the Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center for two shows on Sunday, April 24. Show times are 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Imagine parents honestly being able to enjoy the music that their children enjoy. Imagine soulful and current renditions of the ABC’s, 1-2-3’s, and learning how to be polite. Imagine a diverse, and incredibly hip duo, teaching children through music on an animated train …. And Choo-Choo Soul is born! The music is contagious and soulful, with a focus on trains and learning.
“It is so exciting to bring a show from Disney to the theatre in our preview season,” said Tracy Straight, executive director of the Wayne Theatre. “This is a show that young kids and the entire family are sure to love. My own children love it.”
The show airs on the Disney Channel daily and features Genevieve Goings as the Star in character as the Train Conductor assisted by DC, her beatboxing, and breakdancing engineer. “Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve!” was honored with a PARENTS CHOICE AWARD for children’s television!
The Disney show stars have performed at Walt Disney World, with “The Disney Music Block Party Tour”, and for the prestigious “Target Festival Of Books” tour along with many other dates throughout America and Canada.
“The ticket prices are so affordable, and everyone at the Wayne is really thrilled to be bringing a show of this caliber to the community,” said Straight. “It’s wonderful to have a performance like this right here in Waynesboro and not have to travel to D.C. or Richmond or Roanoke.”
Early ticket sales have buyers from Winchester, Lexington, Richmond, Charlottesville, Crozet and more.
Tickets are $28 and $22 and available Tuesday-Friday at the Wayne Theatre box office at 521 West Main Street in downtown Waynesboro. Tickets are also available by phone at (540) 943-9999, or online at www.WayneTheatre.org. Online ticket sales end three hours before the performance, but the box office opens one hour before show time for last-minute sales.
