WTA Announces Expansion
At WTA’s Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on March 25, 2011, Bill Hausrath, Chair of the Wayne Theatre Alliance, announced that the Alliance will be leasing the space at 329 West Main Street and expanding its programming starting in August 2011.
The Wayne Theatre Alliance will sublease the space at 329 West Main now occupied by the Blue Ridge Christian Fellowship. “The new facility will allow the Alliance to significantly expand its programming,” Hausrath said. The organization’s popular River City Radio Hour will expand from a monthly program to a twice-a-month schedule on the First and Third Fridays of the month. The Alliance’s programming committee is in the process of scheduling a series of performances by regional performers as well as local entertainers and other attractions. The new initiative will offer a diversity of entertainments that will appeal to a broad range of interests. The goal is to expand the reach of the Wayne Theatre Alliance and to build the audience for the reopened Wayne Theatre. Read more
