The Wayne Theatre presents a screening of the film “42” on Sunday, April 8, at 6 p.m., as part of the Faith in Film Series.

Admission is Pay What You Will.

About the film: The powerful story of Jackie Robinson, the legendary baseball player who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier when he joined the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers. 42 stars Harrison Ford as the innovative Brooklyn Dodgers’ General Manager Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who first signed Robinson to the minors and then helped to bring him up to the show, and Chadwick Boseman as Robinson, the heroic African-American who was the first man to break the color line in the big leagues. Together, they helped changed the game and the nation.

The screenings will be followed by a panel discussion which explores finding faith in film.

The Faith in Film series is sponsored in part by First Baptist Church in Waynesboro.
